Welfare fraud has been estimated at more than $500 million per year. The Pennsylvania Bureau of Public Welfare has to be made more accountable. I do not favor eliminating welfare, but we need to be certain that those dollars go to families with legitimate need. Welfare fraud should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, and bureaucrats and public officials who allow it or turn a blind eye should be replaced.
